BLE Tags, ESP32, MQTT protocol, Wi-Fi Connectivity
In large industrial or commercial facilities, tracking valuable assets in real-time is often a significant challenge. Manual tracking methods were inefficient, prone to errors, and made it difficult to locate assets quickly, leading to operational delays and resource mismanagement.
Wheelson developed an Indoor Positioning System (IPS) using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ESP32 to track and monitor the real-time location of assets within the facility. BLE tags were attached to the assets, while ESP32 devices served as anchors, collecting data and sending it to a cloud platform using MQTT for remote monitoring and management.
The system used BLE tags attached to assets, with data being continuously captured by ESP32 anchors. This provided accurate, real-time tracking of the assets within the facility.
The BLE tags transmitted location data to the ESP32 anchors, which processed the data and relayed it to the cloud for further analysis and asset monitoring.
The system utilized MQTT protocol for efficient data transmission to the cloud, enabling remote monitoring and providing detailed insights into asset locations, movement patterns, and usage.
The IPS was designed to be scalable, allowing the addition of more BLE tags or ESP32 anchors as needed. The system could easily adapt to different environments and track a wide variety of assets.
